Ike

Ike is about 3 years old, neutered and up to date on inoculations. He is a high energy guy, will need lots of activity, but is good with kids, and just an all around laid back fellow. Loves everyone, Good with children, and stayed with owners 80 year old father with no problems. Lead and crate trained; knows "sit", "lay", "stay", "leave it" and "down". Has spent about 9 hours a day in the crate while the uprights worked (waaaay tooooo looooong!). Ike was turned into us by the owner as she was developing allergies. He is a big guy, weighs about 80 pounds now, and is not a bit overweight. His tongue works well at cleaning your face and hands, and a milk bone will make you his best friend for life, or at least until somebody else comes along with a snack. This guy is exactly what a Sheepie should be.

Ike is just an overall nice guy, and will make a good addition to many homes.

Princess

Princess is our latest prize in the Old English Sheepdog world. She is less than a year old, and no doubt the runt of the litter at 28 pounds. She hears well, but is blind. The doggie ophthalmologist says its is a brain problem, not an eye problem, and is not fixable (even in humans). She is a puppy mill gal, and this is probably from inbreeding.

That's the bad news...

The good is that she is one lovable dog. The folks at the kennel where she is staying have fallen in love with her, and a couple are putting extreme pressure on their significant others to bring her home. She just seems to have a magic personality, maybe to make up for her sensory loss. Once she gets her "edges" established, and knows where she is, she loves to play and run. She responds to voice sounds. Loves to be with people, and is a snuggler. Quite comfortable in a kennel - it seems important to her to know what space she has to operate in, but then she can make the most of it.

There is no question that this is a special needs dog. She will take more time and effort than the usual Sheepie. Whoever is willing to put in the time and effort will be amply rewarded with a dog that will bond with them, and be at their side for a long time to come. She will become a true friend. Someone will be lucky to have her in their life. She is spayed and up to date on inoculations.
