Happy 2022!

Welcome to 2022! While the panDAMNic took its toll on uprights, 2021 still placed a number of dogs into their ‘fur-ever’ homes. We were fortunate to returning to hosting our fun annual picnic at a new and pawsome location at Camilla’s new home in Elizabeth. Look at all the happy faces who got together on a gorgeous autumn day in September. It was good seeing new and old friends for the 2021 get-together. Don’t forget to mark your calendar for the 2022 picnic, set for September 11, 2022 at Camilla’s home in Elizabeth. Be sure to keep your eyes open for more details on our web and Facebook pages.

2021 saw some exciting changes to the Rescue’s continuing mission of providing homes for dogs with a revamping of the website, a new blog and great social media presence. The annual picnic fundraiser raised $1,812 which will continue to provide financial resources for Old English Sheepdogs who come through our rescue. It was a well organized event full of happy peeps and dogs as shown in the above image with incredible donations for the raffle.

While 2022 will continue to offer a variety of events to benefit sheepdogs, we have a ‘pawsome’ opportunity to really do some special and creative things. The Rescue plans to partner with Canine Colorado and professional pet photographer, DelaFoto for a huge fundraiser. DelaFoto will donate her normal sitting fee of $250 when 25 dogs sign up for a portrait session but we’ll need at least 25 dogs to sign up for this event. More details will be forthcoming but this is an exciting opportunity to raise significant funds for the Rescue. Check out the Canine Colorado homepage for past fundraisers held to get an idea of how to participate (https://www.delafoto.com/canine-colorado).

We look forward to sharing great rescue stories in 2022 and as always, we very much appreciate your financial assistance. If you’d like to help us continue to provide for Old English Sheepdogs that come into the Rescue, we can always use more volunteers to help with fostering and transport, so please reach out and let us know if you can help. Please fill out the volunteer application found on the website under the “forms” tab if you can help us out.

Wishing you a Happy 2022 full of smiles with loads of pawsome OES kisses! 🐾
